CTET December 2022 Result

The CTET December 2022 exam was held from December 28, 2022, to February 07, 2023, and lakhs of candidates appeared for the exam hoping to secure a teaching job in government schools. The exam was conducted in two papers: Paper-I for candidates who want to teach classes I-V, and Paper II for candidates who want to teach classes VI-VIII.

CTET Certificate Validity

On June 3, 2021, the Ministry of Education announced that the Government of India had decided to extend the validity period of the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualifying certificate from 7 years to a lifetime with retrospective effect from 2011.

This decision was taken to address the grievances of lakhs of candidates who had cleared the TET exam but could not secure a teaching job within the validity period of their certificate. With this decision, candidates who have cleared the TET exam will now be eligible for recruitment as a teacher throughout their lifetime. This is a significant step towards enhancing the employability of qualified teachers and ensuring that the teaching profession is recognized as a long-term career option. CTET December 2022 Exam Statics

According to the official CTET December 2022 result statistics, a total of 14,22,959 candidates appeared for Paper 1, and 5,79,844 have cleared the exam. Similarly, 12,76,071 candidates appeared for Paper 2, and 3,76,025 qualified.

To be considered eligible for recruitment as a teacher in government schools, candidates need to score a minimum of 60% marks in the CTET exam. This means that candidates need to score at least 90 marks out of the total 150 marks in the exam to qualify. However, there is relaxation for reserved category candidates. The qualifying or CTET cut-off marks for reserved categories, including SC/ST/OBC, is 55% marks, which is 82 marks out of the total 150 marks in the exam.

It is important to note that these minimum passing marks criteria apply to both Paper 1(PRT) and Paper 2(TGT) of the CTET exam. Candidates who score below the cutoff marks will not be considered CTET Qualified.
